General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

You may be aware that from May 25th 2018, new legislation came into effect governing how schools protect your data. It is essential that every establishment publish a ‘Privacy Notice’. In simple terms, this notifies you of why we need to collect data, what data we hold, how it is stored, who we share the data with and why we do this.

GDPR Contact Information

Who do I contact for more information, to report a data breach, or to access my own personal data (a ‘subject access request’)?

Under data protection legislation, parents and pupils have the right to request access to information about them that we hold. Alternatively, you can call us on (01744) 678545, or write to us at St James CE Primary School, Lyme Street  St.Helens, Merseyside. WA10  0NL.

Our Data Protection Officer

We also now have a ‘Data Protection Officer’ employed by the Liverpool Diocese, her name is Alison Tennant and she can be contacted at alison.tennant@liverpool.anglican.org . Her role is to ensure that data is stored lawfully and safely; in addition, in the event of a serious data breech, it is her duty to report this.
